Two postdoctoral positions open in the Dept. of EAPS at Purdue University
Two postdoctoral positions are available in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences at Purdue University. These positions will support collaborative research between Purdue University and the Arequipa Nexus Institute for Food, Energy, Water, and the Environment in Arequipa, Peru. Application review will begin immediately with appointments starting as early as January 2019. Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
Position 1: The successful candidate will quantify groundwater – surface water interactions across spatial scales in the Arequipa region of Peru extending from the Coropuna Ice Cap to basin agricultural regions. Candidates with experience in the analysis of stable isotopes, age-dating isotopes, and aqueous geochemistry are preferred. Candidates should contact Lisa Welp (lwelp@purdue.edu) or Marty Frisbee (mdfrisbee@purdue.edu) for more information.
Position 2: The successful candidate will investigate sources of nitrate and sulfate aerosol pollution in the atmosphere and coordinate a regional rain sampling network to better understand atmospheric processes in the Arequipa region of Peru. Candidates with experience in the analysis of stable isotope tracers, atmospheric transport modeling, or geospatial data analysis are preferred. Candidates should contact Lisa Welp or Greg Michalski (gmichals@purdue.edu) for more information.
